The Perfect Cup

You wouldn’t think ice cream and bra fittings go together, but that’s exactly what happened at Skinny Cup’s The Perfect Cup event on Sunday.

Held at a stylish loft space in SoHo, the all-day festivities featured complimentary cocktails, makeover giveaways, and of course, plenty of Skinny Cup (the dulce de leche flavor is to die for).

Enjoying The Perfect Cup: galpal and trainer Crystal and me

My good friend Crystal and I enjoyed it all, especially the interesting trivia featured in a bra history display.

It turns out that, like 80 percent of women in the U.S., I have been wearing the wrong bra size. And unlike the last two times I’ve gone to a fitter, I actually noticed a major improvement this time. Kudos to the folks at Warner‘s and Olga.

Veronica Webb shared her top lingerie tips

TV personality and journalist Veronica Webb emceed the giveaway portion. Afterward, I had the chance to chat with her about the importance of having good, well-fitting lingerie.

“When I was on Tim Gunn’s Guide to Style, I started going to lingerie shops and I noticed how many people have bad lingerie,” she said. “Everyone should have something that makes you feel pretty.”

Her top tips for lingerie longevity — hand wash everything except granny panties, put your bra on different hooks and don’t wear it more than two days in a row.

“Bras are like suspension bridges, you have to swap them out,” she said.

Good advice.

you look great!!!! much better “suspension”!

After my divorce I invested in good lingerie. It was less about getting back into a scary dating scene and more about my own self esteem. It was a pretty powerful thing and helped a lot! Sounds like a fun event!!
